Compare the same material specification
Check the product shape, section designation, dimensions, thickness, grade and requested manufacturer on every quote. Similar descriptions are not proof that two sections meet the same project specification.
Match quantities, units and lengths
Confirm whether quantities are pieces, standard lengths, kilograms or tonnes. Note any cut lengths, processing, wastage assumptions or phased quantities so the comparison uses the same scope.
Check documents and delivery separately
State any mill test certificate or other project documentation requirement before ordering. Compare the delivery destination, freight basis, unloading scope and expected schedule only after each supplier confirms those details.
Ask for clarification before choosing
If a quote leaves the make, grade, size, tax, freight or processing unclear, ask for a written clarification. Prices and availability can change; a web catalogue is not a live stock or price list.
